Peter Holland

Jersey City, NJ, USA

peterbholland~AT~gmail·com

Peter Holland, age 24, is an art history graduate of Williams College who plans for a career in medicine. Pediatrics and family practice are where his heart rests now, but he knows the future is a long way off... And so, in addition to working in the healthcare world as a hospital translator and as an advocate for Cuban refugees in the greater NYC area, he currently leads a bilingual rock'n'roll band, Gozadera--a second career that he hopes will grow alongside his life as a physician. Conceived in the chilly hills of northwestern Massachusetts, mettle-tested in the poolhalls and dancehalls of Mexico City, and currently the clarion of Jersey City, New Jersey, Gozadera sounds out through the five boroughs in two tongues with one purpose: to turn your ass into a jumping bean, mama! Their music can be found at http://www.myspace.com/gozadera. Peter's interest in medicine and music has been shaped by time spent in Mexico, Central and South America, as well as his native California, working in the public health sector. He deeply appreciates all his teachers and experiences along the way. He hopes to work toward equitable health care delivery as well as genuine, old-school care in the profession, and bring joy to all those he meets.
